FUN IN LAUGHLIN ,NV

This is a little trip that my brother, Jody and his wife Becky, my sister Cindi, Tony and I took a couple of weeks ago to Laughlin Nevada. The trip was a birthday gift to Cindi from Tony and I and was planned for Las Vegas, but Jody and Becky had a "special deal" to Laughlin and so we decided to go with them, and are we glad we did. What a blast we had! Tony, Cindi and I had never been there before and were very pleased with everything. It's such a no hassle place. Easy access and fun casinos. We stayed at Harrahs, a very nice hotel/casino.

Here we are at the airport bar on day 1 ....Cindi is not the best flyer, so she opted for a little liquid courage.......and the rest of us kinda followed.

.........and this is Cindi when we took off......we really kidded her about being afraid, but as you can see, she took in all in fun. Amazing what a little booze can do.

During the flight, I glanced out the window and saw this forest fire......I only got a shot of last part, it was much bigger.

Well, like I said, we all had a blast.....especially Cindi. This is her first Jackpot pay off. What a time she had.

Here Jody is with his first Jackpot payoff.......the machines were really loose.....to some.......unless your name is Mark.....ha!

Cindi has pay off number 2...

........and number 3! The girl had beginners luck like crazy! SO MUCH FUN!

And thank goodness Tony got in on the action.........we had alot more fun after this.......ha!

Afterwards, we all had a wonderful dinner at this great place in the hotel.....the food was as good as it was beautiful. And, after all, we did have to celebrate a little.

Here we are on the river....Laughlin is on the Colorado River and they use water taxi's to shuttle people from casino to casino and it was really fun.....although I think Jody would have rather been fishing.

One of the Hotel/Casinos on the river....it looks like a giant riverboat.

We were all really amazed at how clear the water is on the river.......look under the ducks and you can see fish......big fish.

The riverfront is really quite beautiful.....here we are on one the decks of the hotel.

Well, when all was said and done, Cindi was the big winner of the group and far as money goes......but I think we all won! We had such a good time.

When it was time to leave, we were all sad.......we packed alot of fun in those 3 days we spent in Laughlin. It was so great just being with family. Tony and I had a blast. Thanks Jody, Becky and Cindi for such a great weekend. Can't wait to go back with you guys.

Oak Creek Lake Does Have Fish

This is one of many fish caught by my nephew, Lanny, and his son Jaden over the weekend at the Oak Creek Lake House. Just goes to show there are fish in that lake after all.

Ava At The Lakehouse

I ran across this picture of Ava helping Crampa water the plants at the lakehouse this summer and I just had to share. Look at her face and her posture......cracks me up.

OK Crampa.....I'm watering and yes, I'm bored.

A Wonderful Week

Wow. Did I have a great week. With Meagan and Jackson coming here, then us going to Midland and seeing the family and then spending more time here at home with Tony, Meg and Jackson, its been the best.

Mom and Jacksons first meeting.

Cindi and son Monty with his girlfriend Adriane. She is real nice.

The proud mommies. Bekka with Kaden and Meagan with Jackson. Those two always have a blast together......even with crying babies.

Every one of my brothers and sisters plus my aunt and uncle were at my moms house Tuesday night for a homemade mexican food dinner. Yep, thats right. All TEN of them and the sister and brother-in-laws. Then their kids with their kids.....well, it was a housefull. I estimate about 45 or 50 were there to initiate Jackson to his really big family. Bekka (Megs best friend) and her two were there also. Bekkas new baby, Kaden, was born just one day after Jackson. And her son Kyler is just great. He is so funny.

Bekkas son Kyler. He is such a great kid.

The two boys...Kaden and Jackson. Destined to be best friends.

My mom had so much fun. Sadly, its getting to be a rarity for everyone to show up at the same time, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But this event was wonderful. We just had a blast. When all of us get together, we have the best time with all of the talking, laughing and cutting up like only brothers and sisters will.

Nephew Jay with wife Pricilla and children Toby, Tara and Tye with his girlfriend.Uncle Lanny and Aunt Madaline.

Just more family....Monty, Adrianne, Meagan, LeAnna holding Jackson, Madaline and Cole.

It was really sad to see Meagan and Jackson go home to Arlington , but they needed to get home to see Daddy ( Jeremiah). I know he missed those two like crazy, and I know Meg and Jackson missed him. Jeremiahs mom lives in Odessa (only 20 miles from Midland), so we were so happy she was able to come over to my moms to see them a couple times this week.

Brother Stacy and wife Robyn with children Josh and Monica.

Now its time to get back in the regular grind of things, but these last few days have been a blessing. I love my kids and I love my family. I'm so, so very lucky.

On Our Way!!

Today Meagan, Jackson and I are on our way to Midland so that the Vines Family can meet Jackson for the first time. Jackson woke up this morning in a really good mood. Smiling and trying to talk.....well......making noises and blowing bubbles.....but that counts as baby talk. We are all so excited. My Mom has really been wanting to meet her great-grandson. I think the family is having a homemade Mexican dinner for us......yummm! I'll try to post pics of our little trip when I get home.
